The end of summer, Labor Day Weekend, is coming up fast! Summer evenings grilling on the deck will soon be replaced by kettles of hot seafood chowder eaten in front of the fire. Time to get our summer favorites, our must haves, in line for lunches and dinners over the next couple of weeks. Of course, in Maine we start with lobsters. Have you had your fill yet? Steamed is perfect but there are so many options. Seafood and pasta is a family favorite and we have recipes right here at harborfish.com/recipes to browse.

What’s next? Maine steamers are next up. Love eating them on the deck on a summer’s day with newspapers laid on the table and big bowls of buttah! Mussels are right up there, too and you can dress them up with wine and garlic and a crusty loaf. Marinated Shrimp on the Barbie, with grilled garden veggies, yum. Oysters!! We have plenty of them. And all the steak fish…halibut, salmon, swordfish, tuna, opah…endless possibilities.

Take advantage of all the local farm veggies and fruit when you plan your meals. Seafood is great with both! The most important thing is to come on down the wharf and start choosing your favorites and enjoying them every summer day until they are gone…
