Bluefish with Almonds

Servings 2 servings


  • 1 lb bluefish fillet
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice


  • Combine the milk and one tablespoon salt. Dip fish fillets into milk, then into bread crumbs. Place in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 tbsp melted butter. Brown quickly in a 500 degree oven for 10-20 minutes.
  • Lightly brown the almonds in remaining butter. After the almonds are golden, pour off butter into a cup, add lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Stir until well blended.
  • When ready to serve, spread almonds over the fish and pour the lemon juice and butter over all.
