Culinary: Pan sautéed, battered and fried.

Sizes: Whales 5 1/2" and up - Jumbos 5" to 5 1/2" - Primes 4 1/2" to 5" - Hotels - 4" to 4 1/2" - Mediums 3 1/2" to 4"

Characteristic:  Soft Shell crabs are a Blue Crab we generally import them from the Chesapeake area of Maryland.  We buy ours from one of the oldest soft shell crab companies in that area.  The season usually runs from May and goes into October.  We generally stop bringing them in live towards the end of June, as the weather becomes too hot to import them in good condition.  Frozen ones are available in the market place year round, call to check on availability, as we don’t always have them in.
